2025 Raj Mittra Travel Grant (RMTG) has been established to partially support travel by one individual exhibiting high aptitude or potential for research to attend the joint 2025 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting, which will be held from 13 - 18 July 2025, in Ottawa, Canada. Applications for the RMTG are due April 13, 2025 (Midnight April 13, Hawaii Standard Time, GMT-10). Note: Candidates are expected to apply for the RMTG before receiving notification that their Symposium submission has been accepted. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply after carefully reviewing the following information to ensure their eligibility and ability to comply with application requirements and deadlines.
Eligibility
Candidates need not be members of IEEE/AP-S, but they must have a contribution accepted for presentation at the 2025 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation. Details of conference submissions can be found at https://2025.apsursi.org/papers.php. The awardee must personally present his/her contribution at a regular AP-S session organized at the Symposium.
Awards
One grant of US$1,000 is available to one individual exhibiting high aptitude or potential for research in areas of traditional interest to AP-S. The symposium registration fee and banquet ticket for the awardee will be covered by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society. Since the award presentation is made at the meeting, the awardee must make his/her arrangement to cover travel expenses to the meeting to receive the award.
Application & Schedule
Every effort will be made to conduct the entire application process by E-mail. Click here to download a copy of the application form. The application form has a list of items each applicant must submit. These include short biographical and research activity summaries and copies of all the papers submitted to the symposium. Applicants must also solicit reference letters, a statement of need for travel support, and a letter of endorsement from the candidate's institution. The latter statement is intended to indicate the institution's willingness to supplement travel expenses on an as-needed basis if the candidate is selected to receive the travel grant. Submission of the application materials is by email. No application can be processed until the award Chair receives all application materials submitted in ONE EMAIL as a single ZIP file, to be sent to RMTG@2025.apsursi.org, due by April 13, 2025. The process of selecting awardees or alternates is expected to be completed shortly thereafter.
Selection
The Awardee is selected by the RMTG Committee, and an awardee's selection is primarily based on the candidate's potential or demonstrated aptitude for research. The awardee must also have his/her paper accepted for presentation at the meeting. Successful RMTG candidates will be notified of his/her selection as soon as possible upon completion of the selection process.
